About the June 5 Full Moon Eclipse...

Full moons are always excellent times for release. (At the end of this article, I will type about how to do a simple, effective Full Moon Release.) This is because energy goes out with the full moon and comes in at the new moon. When there is an eclipse, a major "dose" of energy goes out - it is an exponentially larger amount than what is released at a regular full moon. All of this energy going out is to prepare us for the Solar Eclipse on June 21. Nature loves being in balance. You need to have a huge release in order to make room for the equally large incoming energy we will get on June 21's solar eclipse. In my own work, I call eclipses the Change-Makers, because when an eclipse comes into contact with natal planets or points, the large influx or outflow of energy create tidal waves of energy that has profound effects and can create great change in a relatively short time (within the year of the eclipse).


When eclipses come, they come usually in a pair. First, the great outgoing energy of the lunar eclipse followed two weeks later by the great incoming energy of the solar eclipse. This year, right now, we will have three. A lunar eclipse on June 5, a solar eclipse on June 21 and another lunar eclipse on July 4. We have a lot that we need to release this year, both personally and collectively. The times around eclipses when large amounts of energy are outgoing and incoming are times of energetic instability, thus many astrologers refer to the time around eclipses as "eclipse seasons."


The conventional astrological wisdom around eclipses is to not make any big decisions during an eclipse season - don't buy a house, don't get married, don't buy an expensive piece of artwork or sign an important lease... and, above all, don't act impulsively! I have found that last piece of advice to be particularly relevant. Keep calm, be patient with yourself and others, and notice that you might need an outlet for your own mental, emotional, of physical energy. Mood swings, physical energy swings, mental thought swings are all highlighted.


We are now in an eclipse season. It started on June 2 and will last until July 7.


This particular eclipse tomorrow is happening while Venus has just started her new cycle, which I wrote about yesterday. There is a sacredness to this time, which only comes once every 19 months. This is the time to get in touch with your heart and set your heart intentions for the next 19 months. The most important part of this process is to allow your body to guide you. Venus rules our embodiment. Let your body show you what it will need in this next cycle.


So, we are given a time for major energetic release at the same time we are setting our intentions in our bodies in this new cycle. An interesting meeting! After you know what you are "seeding" in the next cycle, ask yourself: what is preventing me from fully actualizing this potential? Where am I blocked? Where am I stuck? Then, use the following short Release Ritual below to pair with the eclipse to let it go. By the way, there are some things that may not be ready to be released yet because your attachment to them is still too strong. During this full moon eclipse, instead of saying "release" you can say "I am loosening my attachment to..." This is a good way to honor your personal process.


Timing with the full moon is important. You want to do this BEFORE the exact time of the full moon. You can do this with any full moon, not just eclipses.

The timing of this Full Moon Eclipse release is BEFORE 3:12 pm Eastern Time on June 5.

Full Moon Release


Go to a safe space where you can be alone.

Take some deep breaths, allowing yourself to settle.

Now think about a habit, something that is upsetting you, old tapes that you are replaying in your mind that are no longer serving you. On a sheet of paper, write about it, one at a time. Take as much time as you need to express what is arising.


Next, think about any person or incident that has upset you. Think about any circumstance that is frustrating to you. You can even go back to your childhood or other times in your past. See what you haven't forgiven. Again, on a sheet of paper, write it all out. Write out how you feel. Express it all.


If you feel that you are ready to forgive or to loosen your attachment to the hurt, close your eyes. See the person or circumstance inside a bubble in your mind's eye. Add a color that will assist you to their bubble. Yasmin recommends Pink because it is the color of love, but I have found equal success with other colors. Create a good feeling between the two of you and say aloud:


Under this glorious Full Moon, I forgive everything, everyone, every experience, every memory of the past or present that needs forgiveness. I forgive positively everyone. I also forgive myself of past mistakes. The Universe is love, and I am forgiven and governed by love alone. Love is now adjusting my life. Realizing this, I abide in peace.


I bring love and healing to all my thoughts, beliefs and relationships. I learn my lessons and move on. I call on my soul fragments to be cleansed by the Full Moon and I call on them to rejoin me. I send love to myself and everyone I know, and everyone who knows me, in all directions of time. Under this glorious Full Moon, I am healed. My life is healed. And so it is. So be it.


You can use those words, but feel free to use your own. Those are right from Yasmin's book and I have found them to be quite effective.


Then, stand over a sink, or anywhere else where you'll not set fire to the house and burn everything you wrote on the pieces of paper. This releases the energy in the paper.


When you're finished, take a moment to think of what you are deeply thankful for in your life. Really feel your gratitude in your body.

Write a list of people, circumstances and incidents that you are thankful for.

When you are done, burn this list as well. This is because the full moon is a release time and you are releasing your gratitude to the universe and all on earth.

Finally, if it feels right for you, say the following or make your own statement, "I know I am blessed and live my life with that knowing."
